Character Revelations

  • Sleeplessly working his side job, cab driver Higgins tries to make ends meet for Ruth to live in the manner she is accustomed.
  • William and Julia’s neighbour, Goldie Huckabee visits Julia in their home... and a statue goes missing afterward which is  blamed (erroneously) on Murdoch's "Roomba" invention, requiring yet another tweak.
  • Murdoch invents the rearview mirror for Henry's cab that helps to bring a prime suspect to the Station House.

Historical References

  • This episode takes place in Toronto 1907 – Edward VII (Albert Edward;1841-1910) is King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas.

  • Neither George Crabtree nor Detective Watts appear in this episode.
  • Parts of this episode were filmed in St. Mary’s again.
  • Recasted actress Annie Briggs first played Eileen in On the Waterfront Part 1
  • Recasted actor Jameson Kraemer first played the Railway Boss in Glory Days.
  • A possible nod to the classic cop drama "Hill Street Blues", according to Greg David of TV, eh?.
  • Showrunner Peter Mitchell tweeted this episode influences include Thomas Berger’s novel Neighbors (1980), Taxi Driver (1976) and the murder of Kitty Genovese. Also, he noted Higgin's cab is "the best car we've ever had on the show".
