I’m going to be adding and fleshing out summaries on the episode pages for season 11 and onward, and I’d like to make a suggestion. I think it would be useful to have two separate sections to describe each episode: the first a brief, spoiler-free summary so that people who haven’t seen the episode can still find the page useful, and then an expandable section with a full synopsis of the plot. Once the code exists for these two sections, I’m happy to work through each episode page so that it matches the new structure. Would you be open to this?
Thank you for communication. Please keep the format as is and as stated in "get started". Please stick to Season 11 and episodes before that season at this time.
Let's see how your style and work flow goes on the wiki first. Good to play by the rules before making changes. ;^)
While we appreciate your input and offer, we do want to honor all the editors and their work that has been contributed from the beginning of this wiki. Please keep this in mind as you "flesh out" Episode summaries and pages in general. Thank you.
Thanks for your responses, and for the pointer to the “Get started” page. I certainly don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, and I will absolutely be mindful of others’ work, which I very much appreciate and respect. There is clearly a great deal to be done on the wiki, which I frequently use as a resource in my fic writing, and I would like to contribute as much as I can.
So you know, I’m a professional writer, editor, researcher, and content developer who has produced all kinds of documents while working within many, many teams over nearly 30 years. I’m excited to learn about the mechanics and style of the site so that I can help make it even richer and more useful. I’ll be posting my summary of “Crabtree à la Carte” as soon as I can, probably within the next day or two, and I will look forward to your feedback.
To All MM wiki editors and wanna-be contributors reading this thread! This site has been a quiet and modest wiki generated and edited by the occasional visitor to long-standing MM wiki editors, all fans of Murdoch Mysteries. Two of the best editors have been a student from Europe (learning English) and a retired Vet from the U.S., while the less than stellar contributors have been fan fiction writers and a TVfilm pro – go figure. We welcome young and old, no matter your experience, your primary language or where you live; what matters to this wiki is following the guidelines, practicing a consistent workflow and being in communication. Thanks to all and Happy Holidays!
