  • The Hawaii Blue refers to one of the postage stamps used by the Kingdom of Hawaiia known as the "Hawaiian Missionaries", designed and printed in 1851 by the first postmaster of Hawaii, Henry Whitney; the 2cent Hawaii Blue sold for $600,000 in 1995.
  • The area of modern Romania called Moldavia issued its famous cap de bour stamps in 1858 and 1859, featuring the symbol of Moldavia: a star, the head of an auroch (a kind of cow, now extinct) and a horn. These simply designed stamps are rare among collectors today.
