"'The Fantastic Mr. Fawkes” is the seventeenth episode of the seventeenth season of Murdoch Mysteries and the two hundred eightieth episode of the series (not including the three stand-alone holiday specials). It first aired on February 19, 2024.

Summary

Spy Terrence Meyers wants Louise Cherry arrested for a contentious article she wrote about the leading candidate for prime minister, Robert Borden. Murdoch refuses, but things get complicated when a recently fired employee of Borden's is murdered. Murdoch and Brackenreid are enlisted by Meyers to protect the prime ministerial candidate from assassins.

  • Robert Laird Borden was a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the eighth prime minister of Canada from 1911 to 1920. Borden and the Conservatives won the federal election in September 1911; One of the election issues was the debate about the start of the Canadian Navy.
