"Sometimes They Come Back Part 2" is the second episode of the sixteenth season of Murdoch Mysteries and the two hundred forty-first episode of the series (not including the three stand-alone holiday specials). It first aired on September 19, 2022.
Summary
Detective Murdoch suspects Mrs. Hart is lying about her father’s death. Higgins believes Crabtree's aunts might have an ulterior motive. Meanwhile in New York City, Inspector Brackenreid warns Watts and Jack that their custody of baby Samuel is in jeopardy. Unwittingly, Brackenreid has led a private investigator with a camera to Watts, endangering both their futures.

- Mrs. Hart helps Dr. Ogden bring a perpetrator to justice thus freeing her patient from his abuses.

- While Brackenreid tosses out a glass of wine, Murdoch enjoys a glass with a toast to his good friend George and Julia serves baked potatoes again.

- The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the 1900 children's classic, was written by L. Frank Baum and the first novel in the Oz series of books.
- Theodore Roosevelt and the Rough Riders (July 1, 1898), the first voluntary cavalry in the Spanish-American War.
- New Orleans Voodoo is synonymous with the city and its fascination with spirits, magic, and mystery. Voodoo first came to Louisiana with enslaved West Africans, who merged their religious rituals and practices with those of the local Catholic population, then bolstered further by followers fleeing Haiti after its 1791 slave revolt.
