Murdoch Mysteries has been renewed for its Season 19 on CBC. On May 1, 2025, Yannick Bisson posted that Season 19 (21×60) is renewed, followed by CBC's official announcement. It will premiere on AcornTV on March 2, 2026.
Season 19 (21×60) – Premiered Monday, October 6 (8 p.m.) on CBC. William Murdoch and the team at the Toronto Constabulary have plenty of puzzlers to solve, from the Detective's desk: the murder of a fashion mogul that everyone had reason to kill; a politically-charged kidnapping of a Japanese scholar; a game show in which Murdoch participates turns lethal (ep.1903); wild animal attacks in High Park; a dangerous standoff when customers are taken hostage at a roadside inn and Effie Crabtree (Clare McConnell) is pushed aside for a promotion while her husband George receives an enticing job offer (ep.1902). In addition, Inspector Choi's estranged brother arrives in Toronto; Murdoch and Chief Constable Thomas Brackenreid (Thomas Craig) go to the very first Stampede in Calgary, then another mystery has them fighting spies atop a speeding train to the nation’s capital.
In Spring 2026, the new official Murdoch Mysteries podcast will debut with hosts Jason Mewes and Matt Goehring, a look back at the series' lengthy history.

Murdochians (fans of the series) are worried about the future of Station House No. 4 as the Season 18's finale Mayor Vaughan's takeover remains in play.
The cast and crew of ShaftesburyMurdoch XIX Inc. were on location for four days, filming at a private residence in the Grafton area and the township of Alnwick/Haldimand, pleased that the film production company visited their community from May 5 – 8, 2025.
Returning to downtown Cobourg for filming on Monday, May 26 and Tuesday, May 27, including scenes at the exterior of Prep Food Co. on First Street Monday afternoon and evening; On Tuesday, filming continued throughout the day in multiple locations along King Street. These include King Street West near Brocanier’s Menswear, King Street East from Nessie’s British Shop to MacCoubrey Funeral Home, and at James W. Gordon Insurance.
July 2025 filming in Canada’s capital Ottawa: As part of the production, Shaftesbury and Ottawa Tourism have partnered on The Murdoch in Ottawa Contest offering an exclusive opportunity to join the cast and crew for a behind-the-scenes experience.
At Stratford Festival’s Meighen Forum on July 19,2025, Daniel Maslany (Detective Llewellyn Watts) with Maureen Jennings and director Laurie Lynd discussed behind the storylines, characters and Shakespearean influence on Murdoch Mysteries.
MM production set up at the Bar N Ranch in Turner Valley for a three-day exterior shoot with a fan meet-and-greet at the Calgary Stampede’s Sam Centre, as the episode covers a brand new spectacle called The Calgary Stampede.
Dave Foley and Scott Thompson of The Kids in the Hall appear in a special Christmas episode that also features Steven Page of The Barenaked Ladies.
