- A trunk is delivered to Inspector Brackenreid at Station House Four, Pollack's naked body is discovered stuffed inside it.
- Detective Murdoch's investigation reveals Pollack frequently partnered with Dr. Gilbert Birkins as an investor in Birkins' inventions. He helped fund the unsuccessful Corn Shards product. When Pollack withdrew his proposed investment in Birkins' Motorcycle, Birkins had Walter Ayott kill Pollack.
