Nicole Underhay is a Canadian actress of stage, film and television. Nicole was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. She studied Geology at Memorial University. Her research on the Scolecodonts (fossilized marine worm jaws) of Cow Head, Newfoundland, was published in the Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences.

She returns for her seventh season at the Shaw Festival appearing as Barbara Undershaft in Bernard Shaw’s Major Barbara and as Lady Croom in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia. Last season, she portrayed Hildy Johnson in His Girl Friday and as Epifania in The Millionairess.

Previously with the Shaw Festival, she’s appeared as Mae in Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Mary in J.M. Barrie’s The Admirable Crichton, Julia Craven in Bernard Shaw’s The Philanderer, Alma Winemiller in Tennessee Williams’ Summer and Smoke, The Patient in Bernard Shaw’s Too True To Be Good, Gilda in Noel Coward’s Design for Living, Dolly in You Never Can Tell, Cherie in Bus Stop, Mary in Rutherford and Son and Joyce Langland in Harlequinade.
