- This winter episode was filmed in August 2024. It’s the second time the show and the Salvation Army have collaborated, the first time being the Christmas special in 2016. This episode’s kettle musicians are not actors, but actual Salvation Army members: Four members of the Canadian Staff Songsters and four members of the Canadian Staff Band, the Army’s premier musical groups are featured delivering a rousing rendition of "Joy to the World".
- For the first time in a Christmas episode, George is not present, nor is Effie or Julia Ogden, while Susannah appears in a silent moving picture wishing her father season greetings.
