Mayor Clarkson is the mayor of Toronto who Murdoch consults with on cases that threaten the entire city. (In the photo he is second from the left.)
Though Clarkson isn't a bad man nor a corrupt politician, he is constrained by the limits of governmental office and lack of vision.
Appearances and Mentions
- Mayor Clarkson is almost killed but Murdoch arrives in time with Wallace Pike who disarms the bomb. Afterwards, he reunites happily with his family, though Mr. Pike commits suicide right in front of him.
- Clarkson tells Brackenreid to "Your Detective, the Catholic. I hear his wife has some notion of running for office. Ludicrous idea. Not good for him, her breaking the law. Last thing your boy needs." But the Inspector asks, "Is she breaking the law?" The Mayor of Toronto replies, "Not the letter, I gather, but certainly the intent. Have a word. He's gaining a reputation." Brackenreid clarifies, "You mean she is." Clarkson drives home his point, "No difference. They are man and wife, are they not?"
Once Upon a Murdoch Christmas (mention)
- His sister visits Inspector Brackenreid in his office after being robbed by Jumpin' Jack.
