- Lucille Fitzgerald insists that Doctor Ogden not perform the needed surgery on her husband Samuel Fitzgerald and turns to Dr. Forbes, who assigns the surgery to Dr. Dixon.
- Later during the surgery, Dr. Ogden sees Mrs. Fitzgerald waiting anxiously and approaches her with reassurances, but it is taking longer than expected. Then, Lucille spots a nurse rushing out from the operating room. Lucille goes through the doors, followed by Julia trying to prevent...but she is too quick and it is too late. Lucille is shocked and mortified to see the pools of blood surrounding her lifeless husband on the table and the exhausted Dr. Dixon. Screaming Lucille collapses into Julia's arms crying uncontrollably.
