- Jack Larkin is discovered semi-consciousness in his home by Detective Watts as Hakuri and Yua Nakamura cremate their daughter, his wife, in his garden; The Nakamuras accuse Larkin of killing her.
- Jack Larkin is brought in to Station House No. 4 for an interview by Detective Watts but when his lawyer, Jones arrives with his mistress Eliza Day who provides his alibi, he is released.
