- Winston disliked Ida's involvement with the Toronto Paranormal Society and its head, Fredrick Waters. In fact, Winston knew that his wife was having an affair with Waters. He told Detective William Murdoch that at the time of her death, Ida was planning to leave Waters and rebuild their marriage.
