• Horace is brought in for questioning when Murdoch finds three dead bodies buried on his land, and Alvin Nash tells the detective that he and his daughter saw Horace lifting something heavy wrapped in a tarpaulin off a wagon two and a half years ago. Murdoch asks Dawson why he decided to sell, and he explains that his 'vision tends to exceed his business accumin.' and he bought the land because he thought it was a good investment, what with the city moving north. When Murdoch asks him if he knows anything about the bodies, Horace denies it, and admits although he has dodged taxes, he claims he's no murderer. He explains that he went up to the land at night to look at the stars without the lights of the city with his telescope. He tells Murdoch that there may be bodies on his land because of the Hobbins family, but warns him to stay clear.
