- William Murdoch informs Giuseppe Falcone that Miss Fulford has not wronged your organization, it was her fiancée. But Falcone explains, "Nevertheless, I have a reputation to maintain". The Detective points out that maintaining this reputation has already cost him one man.
- Shrewd and experienced Falcone lets Murdoch know that he knows Miss Fulford means something to him, "We will leave her alone"... But? "One day, when the time is right, you can return the favor". The two men shake hands on the deal.
- Shortly thereafter, Falcone is waiting at the Station House to collect on the deal, "A colleague of mine, a Mr. Leone, is going to be taken into custody. I need to meet you this Saturday to discuss some options," but Murdoch informs him that he can not meet him because he has a police baseball game where his absence will be noted. Falcone replies, "Perhaps I'll stroll by. We can have our conversation afterwards. It would be amusing to watch policemen running around like little children".
- After the game is won, Anna Fulford is shot and killed, Murdoch spots Falcone, "You! You murdering coward! ". Falcone tries to explain that he – The Black Hand – had nothing to do with the murder but Murdoch gives him a hard right, knocking him to the ground.
- At the Station House, Falcone leaves with a black eye and a message to Murdoch via the Inspector: "Tell Murdoch the debt has been paid." The Inspector asks his Detective what was he talking about and Murdoch lies to him, "I wouldn't know, sir."
