David Perrault, CSC, is the Director of Photography for Murdoch Mysteries' Season 1.
As Director of Photography, Perrault established the look and style of Murdoch Mysteries with long aerial top shots of the crime scene to the extreme tight close-ups, especially of William and Julia: the first, giving the viewer the geography or map of the crime scene and the second, creating an intimacy in the working relationship between the Detective and the Doctor.
He was nominated for Gemini Awards Best Photography in a Dramatic Program or Series Murdoch Mysteries(2008) for episode The Annoying Red Planet. He is known for his work as cinematographer for Rookie Blue (2014-15) and Saving Hope (2014-15).
