Fan Expo 2013 was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from August 22-25, 2013. On Saturday August 24, the cast of Murdoch Mysteries made an appearance.
At 11:45am in room 104 there was an autograph session where fans met and received autographs from Thomas Craig, Jonny Harris( who was wearing his character's constable coat), Georgina Reilly, Hélène Joy and Yannick Bisson. Following, at 1:15 was a panel discussion featuring all of the above cast members and executive producer, Christina Jennings. Several short clips from upcoming Season Seven episodes were shown and the cast answered questions from the audience and questions submitted from Twitter and Facebook.
During the panel, Christina Jennings revealed that she has been thinking about producing a 2-hour television movie about William Murdoch's origins and early life. Thunderous applause from the audience prompted her to say that she had an answer to whether it should be made.
