"The Things We Do for Love Part 1" is the first episode of the fifteenth season of Murdoch Mysteries and the two hundred sixteenth episode of the series (not including the three stand-alone holiday specials). It first aired on September 13, 2021.
Summary
With their lives in danger, Murdoch searches for Anna Fulford and her son in Montreal.
William Murdoch arrives on La Belle Province hot on the trail of Harry and Anna and he himself is being followed.
Back in Toronto, while the Ernst sisters hold George captive, a fire leads Watts to the case of a young woman whose death is blamed on her husband by her parents.

Historical References
- This episode takes place in Toronto 1908 – Edward VII (Albert Edward;1841-1910) is King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas.
- Shintō, indigenous religious beliefs and practices of Japan, literally means “the way of kami” (generally sacred or divine power, specifically the various gods or deities), came into use in order to distinguish indigenous Japanese beliefs from Buddhism, which had been introduced into Japan in the 6th century CE. Trivia
- Kingston, a city in Eastern Ontario, Canada, and a favorite filming location, is disguised as Montreal, specifically around City Hall and savvy reviewers spotted the storefront and awning of Tara Natural Foods. In addition, Hochelaga Inn, at 24 Sydenham Street, served as a location for a separate investigation with Detective Watts and Ms. Hart.
- Not since Season 5 has the Japanese-Canadian (the majority residing in Western Canada) been represented in this series, yet apropos now for it was in the same episodes (ep.507/508) that featured Anna Fulford in which tatooist Mr. Sato appears.
- Anna Fulford has yet to reappear and is only mentioned thus far.
