Enid Jones is a former love interest of Detective Murdoch and the mother of a child named Alwyn.
Enid Jones is a young lady who appeared in five episodes in season two and had a bit of a romantic interest in Murdoch. She has a young son, Alwyn and is a single mother. Julia Ogden and Enid often do not get along.
Exasperated with Murdoch's hesitance, she warned him that either he would have to take the step in their relationship or end it. After much deliberation, Murdoch chose to pursue Julia Ogden instead.
Enid appears far more frequently in the books, as she boards in the same house as Murdoch. This makes her one of a few minor characters to appear in the TV series and the books. In the books Murdoch and she have a relationship that goes to new heights in Let Loose the Dogs (novel). It is also revealed she has a Welsh background.
