Daniel Maslany is a Canadian actor, improviser and sound designer originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, now based in Toronto, Ontario. In theatre he has performed with Alberta Theatre Projects, Caravan Farm Theatre, Carousel Players, Persephone Theatre, and 2b Theatre. He is the younger brother of actress Tatiana Maslany.
Daniel Maslany and actress and writer Lucy Adele Hill tied the knot on 30 September 2017 after a long courtship.
His solo show O.C.Dean premiered at Globe Theatre in 2013, and then toured to Uno Fest in Victoria in 2014. Film and Television credits include The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe for Lifetime, Corner Gas for CTV, Winging' It for Family Channel and BBC, and The Risen, directed by Jeff Beesly. Daniel stars in the ensemble cast of the CBC series Four in the Morning and in Impulse on YouTube Premium.
The Dartmouth-shot short film The Mohel, directed by Charles Wahl, debuted at the virtual version of the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas in March 2021; Daniel Maslany and Kaelen Ohm (ep.1211) play Jewish parents trying to live up to family expectations.
On February 22, 2023, Daniel Maslany received the Canadian Screen Awards best supporting performer nomination. As of 2024, he has appeared in 86 episodes of Murdoch Mysteries.
