Bartholemew William Barclay "Bat" Masterson (1853 - 1921) is a legend from the "Wild West", now a journalist working on a story introduced in Season 8 of Murdoch Mysteries, portrayed by Steven Ogg.
History[]
“Bat” Masterson had made a living with his gun from a young age. Masterson worked as a buffalo hunter, found employment as an army scout in the Plains Indian Wars, and had his first shootout in 1876 in the town of Sweetwater, Texas. Masterson alternated between work as Dodge City sheriff and running saloons and gambling houses, gaining a reputation as a tough and reliable lawman.
